Terms and conditions for the sale of Goods
Interpretation
In these Conditions the following definitions apply:
Conditions |
means the terms and conditions set out in this document; |

means the legally-binding agreement between us and you for the sale and purchase of Goods which incorporates these Conditions; |
Delivery Location |
means the address for delivery of the Goods as set out in the Order; |
Goods |
means the Goods set out in an Order; |
Order |
means your order for the Goods from us, as set out in your order form acceptance of our quotation for the supply of Goods; |
means our statement about the use of your customer information and our contact details for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (as these may be amended or re-enacted from time to time) |

means the description or specification of the Goods set out in the Order |
Value Added Tax or VAT |
means value added tax under the Value Added Tax Act 1994 or any other similar sale or fiscal tax applying to the sale of the Goods; |

Application of these Conditions
- Any quotation provided by us for the provision of Goods prior to you submitting an Order is for information purposes only. It is not a binding offer by us to supply Goods on the terms of the quotation and these Conditions
- When you place an Order to purchase Goods from us and tick the box indicating your acceptance of these Conditions, you make a binding offer to purchase those Goods in accordance with these Conditions.
- After your placing of an Order, we will email you an acknowledgement of receipt of your Order. This does not mean that your Order has been accepted.
- We reserve the right at all times to reject any Order, in whole or in part, at our sole discretion.
- A Contract will be formed in respect of the Goods described in our acceptance of your Order, upon sending by us of an email to you confirming that your Order has been accepted and is being processed
- We will not accept any variation to these Conditions
Our Products
- The images of the Products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every effort to display the colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that your computer's display of the colours accurately reflect the colour of the Products.
- Your Products may vary slightly from those images.
Price
- All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling and are subject to change at any time.
- The price for Goods will be as set out in the Order or in default of such provision will be calculated in accordance with our standard scale of charges in force on the date of your Order as set out on our website
- VAT, where applicable, will be charged by us and paid by you at the then applicable rate
The price for UK customers:
- includes packaging and delivery
- includes Value Added Tax
The price for overseas customers:
- includes packaging but doesn’t include delivery, which will be charged in addition
- includes Value Added Tax
- Practitioner Books is entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the Goods appearing on our website. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the Goods that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible by email. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the Goods, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or to cancel the order altogether.
Price Match Gaurantee
Our Price Match promise means that if you find exactly the same title(s) cheaper in the UK, we will match that lower price.
If you would like to Price Match please email us at info@practitionerbooks.com with details of the title, ISBN, and website / retail bookshop through which the title is available cheaper in the UK, within 7 days of placing your order.
Once we have verified the price we will refund the difference to you.
The following conditions apply:
- The Price Match title(s) must have the same ISBN
- Price Match excludes items sold through third party sellers at Amazon Marketplace. Items must be sold by or dispatched direct from Amazon
- Price Match excludes items sold through auction websites or private sellers
- Price Match excludes delivery charges
- Price Match cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion, discount or voucher offer
- Price Match will not apply if the relevant Selected Retailer is in administration or closing down
Payment
- Payment is taken at the point of order, whereby you must pay for the Goods included in your Order, in full.
- Once payment has been authorised we will confirm that your order has been received by sending an order confirmation email to your registered email address. The order confirmation will include your name, order number, order details and total price.
- Practitioner Books’ acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms. Any term(s) sought to be imposed by you in your order will not form part of the contract.
Delivery
- We will deliver the Goods to the Delivery Location specified in the order. We will deliver Goods to you within 30 days of our acceptance of your Order, unless exceptional circumstances or events beyond our reasonable control prevent us doing so.
- Not Yet Published (NYP) will be delivered upon publication.
- Delivery charges – we offer free delivery as standard on all books despatched to a UK delivery address
- Your Goods may be delivered in instalments, where your order comprises Goods from various publishers, or in instances where the Goods are either a) out of print and a new edition has been announced by the publisher or, b) not yet published
- Where you or your addressee at the Delivery Location fails to take delivery of the Goods, we shall be entitled to charge additional or reasonable costs of redelivering the Goods.
- If we accept an Order for delivery to a Delivery Location outside of the UK, you may be subject to import duties or other taxes in addition to VAT. These import duties or other taxes are outside our control and must be borne by you.
- We typically, only supply titles to the UK marketplace. However, should you wish to place an order from an overseas territory [outside of the UK] then please email our customer service department info@practitionerbooks.com with your requirements, including the list of titles, quantities and delivery address. We will confirm the cost of supplying the same. Please note that in the event you do proceed we require will require full payment, inclusive of delivery costs, which will be confirmed prior to placing your order via a bank wire transfer. Unfortunately due to heightened debit/credit card fraud, we are not able to accept card payments for overseas orders under any circumstances
Title and risk (physical Goods)
- Risk in the Goods will pass to you on completion of delivery. We will not be liable for any loss or destruction of the Goods occurring after they are delivered to you.
- Ownership to the Goods will pass to you on completion of delivery.
Cancellation
- You may cancel your Order at any time in writing to us up to the end of the fourteenth working day from the date of delivery of the Goods, other than Goods which are:
- in eBook format, which can only be supplied on a firm sale basis. Once an eBook is downloaded it cannot be returned
- If you cancel an Order after delivery of the relevant Goods, you must send the unused Goods back to us at your own cost and expense.
Refunds & Returns Policy
- If you are not satisfied with your purchase it may be exchanged or refunded within 14 working days from your receipt of the Goods.
- Refunds will be issued via the same method with which payment was made, within 14 working days from receipt of the returned Goods, and only where the Goods returned are in a condition fit for resale. Postage costs will not be included in the refund.
- You remain liable for the Goods, including for their accidental loss or destruction, until delivery of the Goods back to us.
- eBooks can only be supplied on a firm sale basis, once an eBook is downloaded it cannot be returned. This does not affect your statutory rights. If you believe your eBook is faulty then please contact info@practitionerbooks.com
- All returns should be securely wrapped and sent, with original packaging slip, together with reason for return to the following address:

Damaged Goods
- We will always replace damaged Goods bought from us, on production of proof of purchase. If you receive a faulty book, please contact info@practitionerbooks.com to arrange return or exchange, stating the nature of the problem.
Force Majeure
- Practitioner Books Ltd shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver Goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to Goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
Data Protection
- We will use your customer information only in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
- This Contract will be governed by the law of England and Wales.
- Disputes will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
